Architectural and Engineering Assessment of Physical Changes Needed for Hospital Consolidation and Restructuring Chisinau, Republic of Moldova
The Ministry of Health has received a loan from the World Bank with the purpose to assess the situation of 24 governmental hospitals and to create a coherent concept with regard to the long term development of them.
The 24 hospitals include more than 10,000 beds and over 100 operating theatres.
In the study the as-is-situation of the hospitals was surveyed from the engineering and medical point of view. Additionally the existing medical equipment and staffing structure were surveyed.
Specifications were done for each hospital with regard to the further level of the medical care, profile, number of beds, furnishing with medical equipment, structure of staff, technical and sanitary facilities and cross linking with other hospitals.
